Mobility

Gualanick & Meyers: Nursing Care Plans: Nursing Diagnosis and Intervention cite the NANDA (formerly known as the North American Nursing Diagnosis Association) definition of impaired mobility as “limitation in independent, purposeful physical movement of the body or one or more extremities.” Cook & Hussey define mobility as “movement that enables function in a seated or standing position” (2008).  Mobility assisting devices may include wheelchairs, strollers, scooters, walkers or gait trainers.
